Regulated natural gas tariff

Ouvir

The regulated tariff is the energy price set annually by ERSE and applied to customers still in the regulated natural gas market.

At present, the regulated tariff is expected to be in force until the end of 2025 and is reviewed annually by ERSE.

Learn more about regulated tariffs and prices.

Decree-Law N.º 57-B/2022, of 6 September, allowed customers to choose to be supplied on the regulated market, by contracting directly with the supplier of last resort in their geographical area, thus benefiting from the prices set by ERSE.

Who can switch to the regulated natural gas tariff?

Currently, all natural gas customers with an annual consumption of up to 10 000 m3 can subscribe the regulated (transitional) tariff system.

How do I know if the regulated tariff is the best option?

You can always run a simulation on the ERSE website to find out which offer is the most competitive for you.

You can also compare the prices on your contract or invoice with the tariffs regulated by ERSE in order to find out whether or not you should switch to the regulated market.

How do I switch to the regulated tariff?

Customers wishing to benefit from the regulated tariff should contact their local natural gas supplier of last resort (SoLR) to formalise the supply contract.

If you have natural gas, you can check here which is your local supplier of last resort, indicating your municipality of residence.

The supplier of last resort is responsible for the switching process, which must be completed within a maximum of 3 weeks.

If I have a loyalty period, is there any termination fee to switch to the supplier of last resort?

If you want to switch to the supplier of last resort and you have a loyalty period, you may have to pay a termination fee. If you don’t know if you have a loyalty period, verify your contract or ask the supplier with whom you signed the contract. The supplier can also inform about the amount of the termination fee.
