How does it work?
To find out more, see Fuels: how does it work? and the printed version.
Several companies are involved in the import, storage and transport (usually by tanker trucks) of liquid fuels before they reach service stations.
As a rule, liquid fuels are sold at service stations throughout the country, although some industries are supplied with bulk fuel.
In Portugal, service stations are usually known by the brand of the oil company that supplies them, but there are also independent service stations and others that already have their own brand.
