Gas system operation

The National Gas System (SNG) includes several infrastructures that ensure, through integrated and coordinated management, reception, transport and delivery to consumers.

The main infrastructures of the high pressure network receive gas from producers (LNG terminal) and from other international markets (interconnections), ensuring operational management (transmission network) and security of supply and commercial flexibility (underground storage).

Other information

Several entities produce and provide up-to-date information on the gas sector.

With REN Gasodutos (the global technical manager of the SNG), you can access data on the gas system and on access to the gas market.

The European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSO-G) provides a platform for transparency on European gas interconnections.

Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) is an organization of infrastructure operators providing EU-wide data on LNG terminals and storage infrastructure.

The Directorate-General for Energy and Geology provides information on the licensing of agents and operators in the sector and on statistical data on energy.
