Functioning

Electric vehicle (EV) users can charge their EV in two different ways:

  • Using a power outlet or a charger connected to an electrical installation. The EV is like another consumption of the installation, not distinguishing it from the other consumptions.
  • Using a charger integrated in the Electric Mobility Network.

The commercial relations In the Electric Mobility Network are described next.

Electric vehicle users celebrate contracts with electric mobility suppliers (CEME) for the EV charging service, and the Electric Mobility Network Managing Entity (EGME) shall ensure the data flow necessary for billing of these contracts.

The price paid by electric vehicle users reflects many costs, namely electricity, electric network costs, commercialization and the use of charging points. Although the entire bill is paid to CEME, it will pay to the chargers operators by the use of chargers.

Prices are market oriented and not regulated. ERSE only establishes a fee for the Electric Mobility Network Managing Entity (EGME) (a legal monopoly) and the electricity network tariffs.

The electric vehicle chargers installed on public roads or in publicly accessible private spaces must be integrated in the Electric Mobility Network.
