ERSE will hold a ConvERSE on "Biomethane: potential and the road ahead"
25/07/2025
The Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) will hold an online ConvERSE session on the morning of 11 September 2025, focusing on the topic of 'Biomethane: Potential and the Road Ahead'.
This seminar will discuss the regulatory challenges resulting from the incorporation of biomethane into the gas sector, bringing together national and international experts and highlighting the importance of this topic for the future of the national energy sector, in particular for the decarbonisation of the gas sector.
It is important to understand international perspectives on the challenges of biomethane, as well as to identify any regulatory barriers and mappping out solutions that enable the injection of biomethane into national gas networks.
At this seminar, ERSE also intends to discuss the essential regulatory conditions and rules that enable the incorporation of biomethane into the National Gas System, which is one of the goals of the Biomethane Action Plan (PAB) that contributes to the national energy transition framework towards a carbon-neutral society.
This ConvERSE marks the launch of the Biomethane Working Group, and presents a summary of the responses to the questionnaire on regulatory challenges identified by various stakeholders in the sector, which was launched on 17 June 2025.
Prior registration is required for the online event, which will take place between 09:30 and 13:30 (GMT +1). Registration closes on 9 September 2025.
