On 3 April 2025, in Lisbon, ERSE - the Energy Services Regulatory Authority - signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Algerian Hydrocarbons Regulatory Authority (ARH), the country's fuel and natural gas regulator.

The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of energy supervision and regulation, with a special focus on sharing best practices, developing technical expertise and exchanging information on the respective markets. The signing of the memorandum marks an important step in the relationship between the two regulators, in the context of an increasingly complex energy sector and the sector's local and regional challenges.

ERSE was represented by its entire Board of Directors and various technical teams, and the moment was marked by the Presidents of both entities, Pedro Verdelho and Rachid Nadil, who emphasised the mutual commitment to promoting efficient, transparent regulation in line with the challenges of the energy transition.
