On 27 October 2022, ERSE - the Energy Services Regulatory Authority,  hosted a high-level delegation from the Moroccan electricity regulator, the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE), for a training session on technical and commercial quality of service, including a visit to the central dispatch facility of REN - Rede Eléctrica Nacional (REN).

The Moroccan delegation, which included two board members and several ANRE directors and officers, was received at ERSE by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Pedro Verdelho, and by a member of the Board of Directors, Mariana Pereira, and at REN by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Rodrigo Costa.

The initiative focused on ERSE’s regulatory work regarding the technical and commercial quality of service in the electricity sector. At REN, the delegation from the Moroccan regulator had the opportunity to visit the central dispatch facility, where they learnt about the process of managing the electricity system at national level.

In the framework of multilateral relations and cooperation with several international partners, ERSE has maintained a close relationship with the Moroccan electricity regulator, with the aim of sharing regulatory knowledge and practices in order to contribute to the development and harmonisation of energy regulation in Morocco and Portugal.
