ERSE launches Public Consultation on the Investment Plan for the HV and MV Transmission and Distribution Network in the Autonomous Region of the Azores

ERSE - Energy Services Regulatory Authority is putting, for the first time, the proposal of the Development and Investment Plan in Transmission and Distribution Network in High Voltage and Medium Voltage of Autonomous Region of the Azores (PDIRTD-RAA), prepared by EDA- Electricity of Azores, under public consultation, with a total investment of 38.1 million euros for the 2022-2024 timeframe.

The Regulation on Access to Networks and Interconnections (RARI), in its current wording, states that every 3 years, the network operators of each of the Autonomous Regions of the Azores and Madeira, in the year prior to the beginning of the regulatory period, must submit for ERSE's approval a single document on the investment projects they intend to carry out over the next 3 years in the respective transmission and distribution networks.

In this sense, The EDA - Electricity of the Azores, as operator of the networks in AT and MT of the RAA, presented to ERSE its proposal of PDIRTD-RAA, which is now being submitted for public consultation. The company proposes an overall investment amount of 38.1 million euros for the 2022-2024 time horizon.

Based on the results of the public consultation, ERSE will issue a binding opinion, including recommendations for improvement and changes to the PDIRTD-RAA proposal presented.
