ERSE has concluded the public consultation process on the Regulatory Impact Assessment Methodology

ERSE – the Energy Services Regulatory Authority – has concluded the public consultation process on the Regulatory Impact Assessment Methodology, wherein several institutions from the sector took part. The feedback received will be incorporated into the ERSE’s internal procedures, helping to strengthen the robustness, transparency and soundness of the decision-making processes within ERSE.
In February this year, ERSE submitted the preliminary version of its Regulatory Impact Assessment Methodology, for public consultation developed with the support of the OECD and the European Commission. Although the public consultation was voluntary, it sought to gather as many contributions as possible from those who will benefit in the future from the changes to be made to ERSE’s internal procedures.
Contributions were received from energy sector operators, public bodies, consumer associations and ERSE’s advisory councils, reflecting the interest in developing more robust and participatory decision-making processes.
ERSE will now begin the process of developing internal procedures, in line with the defined methodology, taking into account the various suggestions received during the public consultation. These procedures, which will impact future decision-making, will rely on the teams’ efforts to adapt to the regulatory landscape and the available resources.
The Final Report on the Public Consultation, which is now published, sets out ERSE’s and OECD’s observations on the comments received from stakeholders.
