Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) bottles are sold in service stations, traditional shops, supermarkets, and through call centres or internet applications with home delivery and bottle collection services.
The sale of bottled LPG, propane or butane, is mandatory at all service stations. This obligation may be waived by ERSE at the request of the service station in the following situations:
- service stations located on highways
- service stations which, because of their size or characteristics, cannot meet the technical and safety requirements for the bottles storage.
- service stations located in localities that already have a piped natural gas distribution network, where the sale of gas bottles is not economically justified
- in civil parishes where there are no service stations, where the necessary measures can be taken for the sale of gas bottles
Service stations must have a storage area for LPG bottles intended for sale.
