05/08/2024

The MIBEL Board of Regulators is organising the MIBEL 20 Years Conference on 1 October in Braga, on the theme "MIBEL in the context of European market design", to commemorate the signing of the agreement between Portugal and Spain that created the Iberian electricity market in 2004.

The MIBEL 20 Years Conference aims to take stock of two decades of experience in the Iberian market and to discuss the challenges currently facing the energy markets at national, Iberian, European and global level.

The conference will bring together speakers of recognised competence and relevance, with a consolidated view of the experience of implementing MIBEL and the process of market integration at European level, as well as a perception of future challenges.

In parallel with the MIBEL 20 Years Conference, the Council of Regulators announces the launch of the 3rd edition of the MIBEL Prize, which aims to recognise and reward academic and research work that stands out for its excellence and innovation and contributes to the further development of issues related to MIBEL.

The Council of Regulators is made up of the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE), the Securities Market Commission (CMVM), the National Commission of Markets and Competence (CNMC) and the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).

Participation in the MIBEL 20 Years Conference is limited and subject to prior registration until 13 September 2024.
